Country Seasons in Larned Nominated for wKREDA’s Retail Business of the Year Award

The Larned Area Chamber of Commerce and Pawnee County Economic Development Commission has nominated Country Seasons Flower Shoppe for wKREDA’s Retail/Service Business of the Year Award. This charming small-town floral and gift shop is a staple in Larned, Kansas and the kind of place you want to visit, both as a resident and a tourist.

“They work diligently at promoting our downtown businesses. They carry gift items for all occasions - so we don't have to go out of town to find them. They even create gifts that match your individual taste – offering a service that is hard to find even in big towns. In addition, they were recently the runner up for the Small Business of the Year award,” said Alex Filbert of the Larned Area Chamber of Commerce and Pawnee County Economic Development Commission.

About Country Seasons

Country Seasons, established in 2007, by sisters, Dawn and Lori Skelton. Dawn started as a delivery girl in 1980 and soon realized she had a God-given talent as a floral designer. She soon started teaching classes through a local community college. In and out of the floral industry for 30 years, the opportunity arose to open her own shop. Dawn's work has been featured in the Metropolitan Bride Magazine. Dawn runs the daily operations of the shop. Lori brings the accounting side of the business as well as helping with designing during the holidays and busy times. Their niece, Bethany, also works at the business, providing customers with small-town service.

Country Seasons is more than just a flower shop. They offer a big city style with a small-town atmosphere creating a unique shopping experience for their customers. Their passion and creativity is evident in their floral designs and their gift store offers a selection of WoodWick and McCall candles, Willow Tree Angels, purses, scarves and jewelry. Gourmet foods, wedding, baby and sympathy gifts, home decor and an old-fashioned candy counter plus so much more.

As for flowers, they have won over customers in Larned and the region, helping with everything from providing flowers for anniversaries and Mother’s Day, to flowers for the most extravagant of weddings. As one customer said on Facebook, “The flowers for my wedding looked like they belonged in a magazine and were EXACTLY what I wanted! I knew they would be beautiful but I was absolutely blown away! Thank you!!!”

They also provide floral arrangements for local charitable events like the Hospital Gala and fun arrangements for Larned’s Homecoming. If there is something happening in Larned, there’s a good chance Country Seasons will be involved in some way. They are an incredible addition to the community!
