From its humble beginnings of wires strung on fence posts, to developing a modern telephone service encompassing 18 exchanges after President Harry S.Truman’s announcement of the Rural Electrification Act in 1949, Golden Belt Telephone Association, Inc., a member-owned cooperative, has always challenged itself to provide the latest technology their customers expect and deserve.

Golden Belt Telephone Assn, Inc. has been active in the community since 1953. They presently operate 18 telephone exchanges, provide Broadband services, and operate 25 cable television exchanges, serving nearly 6,000 subscribers in Barton, Edwards, Ellis, Finney, Gove, Hodgeman, Lane, Ness, Pawnee, Rush, Stafford, and Trego Counties. Golden Belt Telephone Assn, Inc. was recently certified by the NTCA as being able to provide Gigabit Broadband to our communities. They join a select group of rural telecommunication service providers that are able to deliver this level of world-class broadband.
