    Western Kansas Farmer's Markets

    August 19, 2016

Farmer’s Market: a food market at which local farmers sell fruit and vegetables and often meat, cheese, and bakery products directly to consumers.

Farmer’s Markets are an easy way for a community to pull together and bring produce and locally made products for selling. It can be surprising to find local producers in your area that may offer products you didn't know were sold in your area, like homemade soaps, or organic produce! One benefit of this can be cheaper produce or products, additionally, the consumer knows exactly where their purchases come from, and may even be able to meet and talk to the producer themselves. Most markets run the length of summer and some until the end of September and into early October. I’ve listed out the markets in alphabetical order by county, so hopefully you can visit and/or contribute to a market near you!
