Norton County Businesses Awarded Storefront Renewal Grants

    October 14, 2016

Norton City/County Economic Development (NCCED) is pleased to announce each 2016 Storefront Renewal Program applicant will receive grant funding.

In July the Norton County Community Foundation donated funds to the 2016 Storefront Renewal Program. The grants were available to non-profit and for-profit businesses located within Norton County.

“The Norton County Community Foundation’s goal is to partner with entities in Norton County that share our vision of improvement, growth, and vibrancy. The Storefront Renewal Project allows NCCED to allocate funds to those businesses who want to make improvements for the betterment of their facilities and the community as a whole. I am excited to see so much interest in the program,” said Tara Vance, Executive Director, Norton County Community Foundation.

Recipients of the 2016 Storefront Renewal Grant Program and their projects are:

    • Ag One Crop Insurance: signage
    • Bullseye Event Center: windows and doors
    • Carter Building – Norton Telegram: curb, sidewalk and planting area
    • Garrett Plumbing Heating and Electric: windows and signage
    • Gil’s Barber Shop: door and windows
    • Farm Bureau Financial Services: signage
    • 110 Western Sports Bar: awning
    • Sander Furniture Company: awning

“It was very encouraging to receive applications from eight businesses and that showed us our business and property owners were interested in updating and beautifying their storefronts. All of the projects are very worthwhile and will make a positive impact on our community’s appearance. I can’t thank the Norton County Community Foundation enough for their generosity in funding the Storefront Renewal Program,” said Keli Habiger, Executive Director, Norton City/County Economic Development.
