Three Amigos Mexican Restaurant opens in Downtown Lincoln

    April 17, 2017

Just two months after the Sunrise Café closed its doors, the Three Amigos Mexican Restaurant opened in its place on March 1st bringing authentic Mexican flavors to the county.  Tacos, burritos, enchiladas and other traditional Mexican dishes are on the menu along with lunch specials, combination dinners and house specialties – many of which are family recipes that have been handed down from generation to generation.

Ricard Hernandez, owner who grew up in Guadalajara, Mexico, isn’t new to the restaurant business. He currently operates Yopo’s Mexican Restaurant in Osborne. While Hernandez has been on-hand during the first few weeks of being open, he will eventually turn over management duties to his cousin, Daniel Hernandez, who has recently moved to Lincoln from Tennessee.

Kelly Larson, Lincoln County Economic Development director, said she first spoke to Hernandez last summer and discussed opening a restaurant in Lincoln. Unable to find the right location, he decided to put the project on-hold. But once she learned about Sunrise Café closing, Larson contacted him. After looking at the space, she said Hernandez was immediately interested.
