Tiny campers highlight outdoor market
17 Apr 2017
ABILENE — Something old, something new and restored tiny campers could help nearly double the population of Abilene on Saturday.
About 6,000 people are expected to attend the Vintage Camper Show and Reitz and Rust Outdoor Market, said organizer Jenn Reitz.
“People come from all over,” she said. “It’s a crazy weekend.”
“People are looking for treasures,” she said. “We have old and junky and new and trendy.”
Those people converge on the fairgrounds in Eisenhower Park in Abilene, a town of 6,558 people, to visit more than 150 vendors and 10 food trucks and to ogle over the old campers.
