Great Plains Technology and Manufacturing Cluster Sponsors Western Kansas Rural Economic Development Alliance
28 Feb 2023
The Great Plains Technology and Manufacturing Cluster (GPTMC) became a Gold Sponsor for WKREDA to have a positive impact on the future of Western Kansas. A Gold Sponsorship helps WKREDA promote Western Kansas for various community development activities and for recruitment of new talent and businesses, overall leading to significant enhancement of the region.
Why GPTMC Chose WKREDA
GPTMC is an initiative hosted by the K-State Technology Development Institute and funded through the U.S. Small Business Administration’s Regional Innovation Clusters program. The purpose of the program is to serve as a community to connect small businesses and manufacturers to the critical resources needed to drive innovation, solve challenges, and be successful throughout the Great Plains region. Many of the resources and programs available include engineering assistance, website/marketing material development, market research/data analysis, commercialization, technology development, and more. The community consists of more than 260 entrepreneurs, manufacturing leaders, and resource partners in the region. The GPTMC is free to join and members can be listed in the community directory, have access to services and programs, receive monthly newsletters, and more.
Courtney Swanson is the Outreach Coordinator for Great Plains TMC and also a WKREDA Board member representing northwest Kansas. She is focused on helping the Western Kansas community continue to thrive through the continuous successes of businesses and individuals in the area. (Note: Sponsors do not have to be members of WKREDA).
“WKREDA is a well-known support organization throughout Western Kansas, so it was important for us to be part of such a successful and supportive group,” Swanson said. Both GPTMC and WKREDA have a similar mission in that they are focused on bringing people together for the common good of the Great Plains and Western Kansas regions. By sponsoring WKREDA, you are supporting the work they do for their communities every day.
“Not only are we building our manufacturing community with resources from Western Kansas, but we are also helping build the WKREDA community by serving as a technical resource for manufacturers and entrepreneurs throughout the region,” Swanson said. “The members and other sponsors have been great to work with and are able to share our capabilities with businesses in their counties.”
