Scott County Development Committee Seeks Economic Development Leader

The Scott County Development Committee (SCDC) is looking for a new Executive Director of Economic Development to help plan, direct, manage, and oversee economic development in Scott County, Kansas.
The individual chosen for this important role will be responsible for promoting economic growth and spearheading initiatives that:
- Attract quality employment
- Revitalize the downtown area and retail sectors
- Help improve housing and childcare availability
- Foster entrepreneurship with youth and adults
The Executive Director is also responsible for preparing the annual budget, reviewing expenditures, reporting on financial status, and establishing a directory of financial tools to help businesses launch and expand in the area.
Working as a liaison between local government and business, industry leaders, and the media, this individual will be the key contact for promoting economic growth in the county. In fact, you’ll be the point person for communication with media outlets to field questions and inquiries about relocation and expansion of business within the county.
As the Executive Director for economic development, you’ll work closely with Scott County financial institutions to coordinate loan packages to help finance new businesses or aid in expansion. You should be a go-getter comfortable with cultivating relationships with other organizations, such as the Western Kansas Rural Economic Development Alliance (WKREDA) within the region and the rest of the state.
Position compensation includes a starting annual salary range of $50,000 - $70,000, with negotiable benefits.
