Making housing affordable in western Kansas

    September 5, 2016

Many people with moderate incomes today have a conundrum. They struggle to afford rising rental rates yet their incomes are too high to qualify for federal housing assistance. Thankfully, our region is tackling this issue head-on.

The Kansas Housing Resource Corporation helps people bridge the affordable housing gap with its Moderate-Income Housing (MIH) Program. Communities with less than 60,000 people can apply for the MIH Program, which helps develop affordable multi-family rental units and single-family homes. There’s even down payment and closing cost assistance available under the program for those interesting in becoming homeowners.

Find out more about how the MIH program is helping make housing affordable for people across Western Kansas. http://www.kshousingcorp.org/moderate-income-housing.aspx
