As of March 2014, there were more than 28.2 million small businesses operating in the United States. Sixty-three percent of the new jobs created from from 1993 to mid 2013 resulted from small businesses.
Sadly, only half of small businesses last more than 5 years. That’s why start-ups need support. For more than 30 years, the Kansas Small Business Development Center (SBDC) has provided advice and training to tens of thousands of businesses throughout the state. SBDC helps small businesses accomplish key steps toward sustainability, like accessing capital and developing marketing and business plans.
