Rooks County Construction Projects Move Forward

Construction
Several business expansion projects continue to move forward in Rooks County in 2016. The newest projects to start are expansions at the Farmers Union Co-op in Stockton and a new building at the Plainville Livestock, LLC.
With the anticipated record fall harvest, Farmer’s Union started construction of a new steel storage bin north of their existing bins. In recent years, fall crops were stored on the ground south of the existing elevator. Even with the new construction, it is expected ground storage will be needed this year.
Plainville Livestock is constructing a new sale barn just east of their existing facility which has been in place for many years. The new building construction goes along with other expansions that have taken place at the facility over the last few years.
The construction of a new facility along U.S. Hwy 183 has Bosselman Energy nearing completion. The expansion will allow for more retail pumps and a facility to store and work on transport vehicles. New offices are also a part of the building.
Rooks County Health Center is in the middle of their Phase 1 expansion that will add a new MRI and Nuclear Medicine facility to the existing hospital. The expansion will create several new jobs and will allow MRI’s to be completed in the hospital instead of requiring a mobile vehicle.
